July Article 2006

On July 8, 2006, the Schulenburg Public Library held their weekly story hour at the Regency Nursing home.  The children and residents listened to the Schulenburg Boy scouts: Troop 210 read stories, and then later enjoyed punch and cookies.  We would like to thank the regency nursing home for having us there to do the story hour, and the boy scouts who came to read.  The Schulenburg Public Library also holds a story hour on Monday and Wednesday mornings for the Boys and Girls Club of Champion Valley.  The 20 children come and hear delightful stories read by our part-time high school help.

The Schulenburg public library would like to thank the following patrons that have helped us and volunteered their time: Gloria Clifford, Jon Beebe, Mandy Simons, Jo Lane Schwenke, Jonathan Sirilo, Johnny Toro, and John Michael Stewart.  We would also like to thank our patrons that have recently made donations of either books or monetary.  Thank you to the following: Jeff Joyner, Kathy Barta, Michelle Beyer, Alejandro & Aldredo Jimenez, Verna Poole, Tyler Pope, and The Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands.  A book, Spiritual Trails to Happiness by Rabbi Solomon Foster has been donated by Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion.

The Schulenburg Public Library has wonderful hardback and paper back books for sale daily!  Come join us at the library and check out a great book!  The library hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  To read this article and learn more information about the library, go check out the Schulenburg Public Library’s website! www.schulpl.org
